About the Role
Agami is designed to be a lean, curatorial organisation to catalyse missions for the field of law and justice. We're looking for someone who is aligned with Agami's goals and ensures Agami's success by putting in place and managing key organisational pillars such as project operations, people management, financial operations and institutional stakeholder communications. The Curator - Core Capacities will work with all initiative leads and the founders to strengthen Agami’s capacity to fulfil its Mission whilst adhering to its values of authenticity, courage and bias for action. Someone who loves working operations, people, and processes will be ideal for this role.
Responsibilities
- People -
- Establishing light yet dependable processes for hiring and onboarding and actively supporting hiring for key positions as and when they develop.
- Ensuring that the right policies are developed and implemented.
- Designing and managing the organisational and staff and organisation feedback and appraisal processes.
- Ensuring critical decisions at team meetings are actioned upon
- Managing Agami bi-monthly co-working and annual all team retreats and co-working.
- Governance -
- Coordinating board meetings, preparing agendas, and distributing materials to board members.
- Contributing to the development and review of governance policies, procedures, and bylaws, ensuring alignment with the organisation’ mission and strategic goals.
- Drafting, preparation and maintenance of key records, documents and materials such as annual reports, minutes of meetings etc.
- Ensure website is updated and makes good disclosure
- Maintaining documents, files and key knowledge resources for easy use by staff.
- Put in place systems to manage security of people, documents and platforms
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to address inquiries, concerns, and updates related to operations.
- Funder Management and Financial Oversight -
- Maintaining an informative funder dashboard.
- Managing requests and reporting in funding relationships.
- Supporting new funding by keeping up-to-date materials.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely record keeping of financial records and reports.
- Assist in preparing and reporting annual budgets; support auditors with financial reporting, expense processing, and tracking.
- Implement best practices in financial management to optimize the organisation's resources.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will possess most of the following skills and experience:
Experience:
- Preferably a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree but not important if said person has a proven track record of professional experience.
- Familiarity with all kinds of core work tools (documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and over workplace software).
- Experience in working with teams, setting effective processes, operational work in small to medium sized entrepreneurial organizations, ideally in the development or legal space.
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
